Is it more or am I the only one worried about the loony tune background behind the kiss? It has about the same tone as a forest fire near a powerder keg factory. So the nexus movement/tug of war properly had some unexpected side effects affecting this kiss.
Think of it like Popeye eating spinach: the cartoonist usually depicts his muscles bulging and then zooms in to reveal a nuclear bomb going off on his biceps, or fire shooting out of his pipe. Yeager is getting a surge of Divine power from Piffany’s kiss, as she revealed several issues ago to Nodwick, and this is the visual effect of the kiss.
I’m kinda disappointed. I’ve always kind of identified with Nodwick. Who hasn’t been a peon that has been mistreated by a thoughtless boss? Yeager already gets all the money and loot (and has the girl), and even steals Nodwicks meager salary to boot. It would have been nice to see Nodwick win for once.

It’s just as well that Piffany’s hooking up with Yeagar, since we find out in the Return of the Henchmen that she’s Nodwick’s sister!
